Blue

Chanel News
The Chanel show at Paris fashion week showcased all things blue.  Everyone who knows me knows I LOVE BLUE.  I love all shades.  It is said there were 150 shades of blue.  Not that anyone's counting...

I am so taken with this collection.  It is so happy, light, inspiring.  The show stage is amazing, the hair is sky high and the nail polish is the perfect pearly, metallic blue.  Oh, i love blue!

Kelly Wearstler

Bravo
Kelly Wearstler is one of my favorite interior designers.  Oh i love her blog!  I admire her courage in her designs as well as her image.  She's so very quirky and doesn't seem to hold back with her creations in clothing, jewelry, home decor and yes even hair!  How can I not love someone with the spunk to crimp her hair!

Hermes

I read a funny quote on Twitter today...
"Dear fashion world,
Please stop taking all our stuff.
Sincerely,
Equestrians"

I had to laugh.  It's so funny and so true.  I know nothing about horses, I've ridden twice in my life and yet I LOVE riding boots!  I beg, who doesn't look adorable in equestrian gear?

Now, on the other hand it's important to remember some of the largest fashion houses started out as leather shops.  Hermes, the perfect example.  Thierry Hermes started a harness workshop in Paris in 1837.  In 1880 when his son took over they introduced saddlery.  Hermes is one of the most sought after designers today, and they started with equestrian gear.

So I say we share and share alike!

Neon

I'm seeing it everywhere and it makes me so happy!  I was a teenager in the '80's, PLEASE don't do the math...  Neon, bright colors were the look head to toe.

Neon will trend in and out through the years, but I'm glad it's back for now!

Leonardo da Vinci

In 1978, da Vinci scholar Carlo Pedretti discovered a drawing of a handbag designed by Leonardo da Vinci around 1497.

Fashion house Gherardini, which was founded in 1886, had the bag designed and recreated.  It is named Pretiosa, which means precious.  Here is a video of it being handmade by an artisan.

Leonardo was commissioned to paint a portrait of Lisa Gherardini in1503.  It took him so long to paint that he gave up the commission in 1506, although he continued working on it for the rest of his life.  We know this painting as the Mona Lisa.  Lisa Gherardini's relatives founded the fashion house who just had this bag recreated!  What an amazing "common thread"!

Gerber Baby

Daily Mail
It was only a matter of time before Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber's daughter Kaia Gerber began modelling.  She has amazing hair and amazing genes.

Cindy Crawford was a muse of Versace's in the '90's. Versace has recently introduced a children's line called Young Versace.  At just 10 years old, Kaia was chosen for the first add campaign.   A true full circle...
