Hair Color-For Real

While getting ready this morning with the TV on I heard one of the most renown hairdressers talking about hair color.  I won't name names.  He was giving advice on how to purchase boxed color in a drug store!  I was horrified.  If boxed color was acceptable on any level, we would use it in a salon.

Boxed color is unpredictable.  The shelf life can change the color from one box to the next.  You also have no control over the developer which can be harsh on the hair.

There are other options if trying to save money on hair services, but cutting corners on hair color is not one.  There are great products out now that can cover grey temporarily at the hairline and part. This can extend the time between services.

My piece of advice, don't try this at home!

Perfect Pedicure

In an earlier post I raved about Sally Hansen nail polish strips.  They have just made strips for toes!  Genius.  Here is the pattern I bought today, but I'm hoping they release some solid colors for the times I'd like to be conservative.  It does happen...

Heat Protectant

If you are using a flat iron, wand, curling iron or blow drying your hair with a round brush it is imperative that you use a heat protectant.  Heat protectants guard the hair against intense heat and can help prevent dryness and damage.  If you aren't using one, go get one!  Here are my favorites...

Espadrilles

Espadrilles have been made since at least the 14 century, from Spain.  They normally have a jute sole, canvas upper and come in every color and style imaginable.
In the 1960's Yves St-Laurent brought the espadrille into the fashion world.  He asked for an espadrille to be made with a heel which had never been done, and they've been a popular summer shoe to wear ever since.
