I've had a lot of people ask me how to do a fishtail braid. It is honestly the easiest braid to learn. They are here to stay for a while so you might as well learn now! I've included a video to get you started...
Start with just 2 sections, unlike the 3 sections used for a traditional braid. Take a piece from the outside section of one side, and cross it over to combine it to the section on the opposite side. Repeat until you've reached the end or until you've created your desired result!
There has been a lot of media attention focused on the UV light used to cure gel nails. Many studies have been done and there will be more to follow on it's potential to cause skin cancer. They are not completely safe from harm, just as fluorescent lights in offices or the sun. We are exposed to more UV rays by walking to our car than sitting under a nail UV lamp for a total of 10 minutes every few months. I think just as we should wear sunscreen all year round, and take care of our skin, we should be aware of any amount of damage and act accordingly. I don't think there is a need to panic, but I think it's important to be aware. Here is an article with more information...

I've succumbed to the latest trend, sombre hair. As per previous post, sombre is a softer or "somber" ombre. Dark and gradually fading to light on the ends. This is a more natural look as opposed to ombre which was popular a few years ago... You will see a lot of it this year, I know I already have!

I recently read "Timeline of a Tan" in the latest Women's Health Magazine. This timeline is easy to understand, and I hope it hits home for many people. I am religious about sunscreen, I am careful about the time I spend in the sun, I haven't seen the inside of a tanning bed for 20+ years, and even I was made more aware. Please take care of yourself and if you must, get your bronze artificially! I am on a constant quest for the best sunless tans and I will be sharing my favorites soon!
